R.I.P. Bernoulli

Bernoulli passed away today.  So sad.  He hadn't been feeling well for a few days and I was  going to take him to the vet tomorrow to see what we needed to do.  I was dreading it because I was afraid we were going to have to put him to sleep.  He just laid down and that was it.  He was such a fun dog and he had a good long life.  So hard to explain to the kids.  Pets are so fun to have and they become such a big part of your life, it is so sad to say goodbye.

All sorts of stuff

Once again I have fallen way behind on my blogging.  This whole blog is just for my memories and I am failing at updating it.  Oh well :)  Such is life.

Some recent happenings:
We got a new puppy.  His name is Ares (as in Greek God of war)  He is a german shepherd and so far seems to be very smart and sweet.  Hope he stays that way!  hehe

Haiden got braces.  He will probably kill me for posting these but I think they are great.

We went to Raging Waters (Now called 7 Peaks - didn't take any photos because it is pretty hard to do that while going down a water slide - Fun but crazy day with 7 kids and only 2 adults :)

Today was our Price/Burton (My dad's side of the family) Reunion.  We haven't had one in oh about 20 years or so.  It was a lot of fun catching up with aunts/uncles and cousins that I haven't seen in ages.  Hopefully we have one sooner than 20 years from now.  I wish I took more pictures, but I forgot my camera and just snapped a few with my phone.

Such a sad day.

Rest in peace Danobi

Remember her  running around the back yard, barking at everyone that passes by, scaring the crap out of a lot of bikers and runners. Remember her running and catch her tennis ball and stubbornly refusing to give it back to you even though she wanted you to throw it for her.  Remember her carrying her squeaky toy around the yard until she gets the squeaker out, then she carefully carrying that around.  Remember her trying to come and sit on my lap, even though she was much bigger than me.  Remember her being queen of the food, she might not want to eat it but she didn't want the other dogs to eat it either.  Remember the kids riding on her when they were smaller.  Remember her laying on the flowers or garden plants you just planted.  Remember when she took an entire loaf of bread off of the counter top because she could.  Remember the time she took a bite out of Ron's butt.  Remember the second time she tried to take a bite out of his butt and got his blackberry instead.  Remember how she would patiently wait for you to give her a treat, she would wait as long as it took.   Remember her wagging tail that was a lot more like a whip sometimes.  Remember the time she ate a gopher - much to Darrin and the kids delight.  Remember what a great dog she was.

We love you Danobi, you will be missed!

This past week we had the opportunity to go to Cooperstown NY for a baseball tournament.  WOW.  What a fun experience.  The boys stay at Dreams Park in the 'barracks' with the coaches during the week.  They trade pins with the other 100+ teams that are there.  The fields were beautiful.  I think Haiden had a great time.  He even hit a home run over the fence!  I don't have a picture of that or of the many great catches he made out in the field because I am really terrible at having the camera out when he does the cool stuff :)

 Here he is pitching!

This face cracks me up - he swung at a pitch he knew he shouldn't have :)
Here he popped up - thankfully the other team did not catch it
 sliding into second
making one heck of a throw from left field to 3rd base I think
 The team
 Doing the Tebow
Unfortunately I forgot the camera for most of the non baseball related activities that we did.  This is just behind the house we stayed in.  Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!  There was a pond and a creek (which the kids tried to fish in hehe)  We saw some frogs and a turtle.  The kids LOVED it there.

WHOA

Ok, so it has been a really long time since my last post!

Halloween, fun. Can't remember what the kids dressed up as, I don't really want to search and see if I did or did not take pictures ;) - nobody threw up this year which is always a plus!

Thanksgiving. Great. Got to see family, eat great food and enjoy each others company. I know I didn't take pictures on that one.

Christmas. Awesome. Love Christmas! Who wouldn't :) We only took a few pictures because our camera battery died. Oh well.

January. Hmmm - January was a tough month. PEPG (Darrin and Rick's company) decided to close it's doors. What a heartbreaking thing to go through. It was tough to have to say goodbye to employees and to something that isn't just a job but a lifestyle for us. Thankfully we were very blessed and Darrin was able to get a job at another company.. It has been an adjustment for him / us but I think it is going well and I think it is a good fit for Darrin, I know he will do great - how can he not! He is amazing!

February. Better :) Adjusting to all the new changes. Haiden turned 12 - whoa! where the heck did that come from? I can't believe how old he is getting. Next year is middle school for him - AHHHH! Baseball is in full swing for Haiden. Raegan and Tre were in gymnastics but I pulled them out for now, Xander was in Karate but I pulled him out too. Too many things to try to run around and do while working full time. Once I go back to part time they will get to be in activities again.

Leap day - NEW PETS! Yeah, we are nuts. No doubt about it. Tre has been asking/begging/pleading/cajoling and the like for about 2 years now. He finally wore us down. He made a deal with dad that he would show how responsible he could be. Today I drove over to the pet store and Tre picked out Cutie (tri-colored) and Fluffy (black). He first named them Tre Jr. and Mr. Ballsy - personally I think fluffy is better than Mr. Ballsy hehehe. I actually have a picture!
Hopefully I can be better about posting, if only for myself so I can remember the goings on in life before they pass me by!
