Vacation

We are almost finished with our vacation. On one hand it has not been long enough and on another I can't wait to get home. I am missing my kids like crazy!! I have had a WONDERFUL time spending some one on one time with Darrin. We have had a lot of fun driving up and down the New England Coast (although we have a really ugly rental car!), we have some awesome pictures of the ocean. Our hotel is beautiful with a fantastic restaurant in it. Darrin likes the bathrobe a lot, he reminds me of Hugh Heffner a little - not because of any prancing ladies - thankfully there are none of those. We have been to 3 movies which sounds weird to do on vacation but we don't get to go very much at home without getting sitters etc. Darrin insists he has gained weight on this trip (I am not seeing it). All in all it has been really fun and beautiful to visit.

No more ba... Ahem.

I took Hines in for the ol' fixaroo today. He seems very sad (obviously). Had to do it though, he was marking his territory INSIDE my house -- not a good thing at all. The kids all think it is hilarious that he has a "lamp shade" on his head. Poor Hines, hopefully he will feel better tomorrow and not be in too much pain.

Taking a bath....

Well, never a dull moment at our house. After giving Xander a bath this morning, it was Raegan's turn. So I got Xander out, got him dressed etc. and put Raegan in. I guess Xander decided he wasn't clean enough so he got back in..... fully clothed I might add.

Baseball...

Haiden has started baseball again, his team is very good! Today was the first time I have been able to attend a game and it was a lot of fun to watch him play. He gets a little distracted that I am there watching him - hehe. He hit 3 out of 3 times at bat. He looks so great standing up there ready for the pitch. The whole team looks so dedicated out in the field and they are ready for every pitch. Their team won 16 to 0. They have won every game so far -- most of the scores have been 24-2 or something like that. I am very proud that he works so hard and practices so that he can do good at the games.

Haidens team is batting over .800 for the season and most of their outs they get by fielding outs. These kids have played together for several years now and are very solid from top to bottom.

On a non-baseball related note.... we have been bribing the kids with the idea that we will get a Wii if they are all good. Haiden today was talking to Darrin about it, Darrin was explaining that all the kids had to be good in order to earn the wii, Haiden said "but dad, what about Xander, he is always bad - he's going to blow it!" Hahaha, guess the other 3 kids will have to be EXTRA good to make up for the little brother.

OWIE!!!!!!!!!

Tre` had his tooth pulled at the dentist office today. I sat in and watched, probably shouldn't have. I can handle any blood, guts etc. when it is someone else but when it is my own child it makes me a bit queasy. Tre` did so good, didn't even flinch. Then after they put the spacer in and left the room he grabbed my hand, started to cry and said "I don't want to do anymore". It really was so sweet and sad. Of course made me cry. He is now sufficiently drugged up and feeling pretty good. Sorry for the blurry pic, my camera would not focus.

Hair....

Ok - need your help (if only this were my biggest concern in life!!) I am getting my hair done on Friday, need to know what you think.

Open Wide!

Boy, I am not sure if there is anything funner than taking 4 young children to the dentist! At
least when we go to the doctor we are in one small room instead of spread out all over the office. Haiden did not have any cavities but he has to go to an orthodontist (yikes), Tre has an
infection under one of his crowns so he has to have an extraction - owie!, Raegan has chemo
teeth and I won't even mention the amount of
work she needs done -- we will be taking her to PCMC to have her sedated and get it all done at once, and Xander, well.... he has 1 cavity and was such a delight that the dentist decided we better sedate him too. I think I heard "don't bite my fingers" about 34 times. I could sure use some of that laughing gas right about now. Then, they want me to sit down and schedule the appointments -- after we have been there for an hour and a half already -- yeah -- my kids would just sit right down and wait for that to happen - HAHAHAHAHA. I told them to just call me please. On the way out Raegan, being the graceful child that she is somehow fell and scraped her knee. Whew, I think I have had enough for today thanks!

Birthday Weekend.

Raegan had a great birthday weekend. We had cupcakes on Thursday at home and she opened presents, then Saturday morning we went to build-a-bear with Evelyn and Lydia, the kids had a great time picking their animals and dressing them. Then Sunday we had the family over for cake and ice-cream. She got spoiled rotten that is for sure -- it is always fun to get together with all of the family -- a little wild, but fun! I also was able to style her hair -- it isn't long enough to do ponies or anything but I think it is very cute.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAEGAN!!!

I can't believe my little girl is 5! It seems like such a short time ago when she was just a tiny baby. She amazes me every day with her strength and courage. She is truly an inspiration to me. As her dad said today "her birthday's seem more special now".

Remind me, why?

About once a month it seems that I decide I do not want to cook, and ordering out doesn't seem quite right either... So I usually google Darrin and say "how do you feel about taking the kids out to dinner?" he usually reminds me that this is not a fun thing to do. However, tonight he decided to go with it and said yes. Inevitably, whenever this happens, at some point before we ever get our food I turn to him and say "remind me next time I want to go out that this is what happens!". Sigh. Several trips to the bathroom and a few spills later we get our food. Xander wants what Raegan has, Raegan wants what I have, Haiden has eaten his before we can figure out who needs what, and Tre is NEVER done by the time we want to leave. I just love it at the end of the meal when the server asks if we want dessert -- I just want to say "oh sure, I would love a few more minutes of madness in my day, thank you". Oh well, at least I didn't have to cook tonight :)

AAWWWW!

Not much to say here except AWWW!! So cute! Raegan was "taking a rest" as she calls it today and I just thought this was so sweet. Hines is really a great dog with my kids. Please try to ignore the mis-matched sheets - give a girl a break would ya!

Sweet saying

The other day I was at Rodworks doing a bit of shopping. As I was waiting for the sales girl to find the clock I wanted I noticed this plaque with a winnie the pooh saying on the wall. I am sure the girl thought I was a bit of a looney because when she came back I was crying and asking if she had a copy for sale. It makes me think of my brave little girl.

If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember... you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think... but the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you.

Fun Stuff

This is Xander, well I guess I should say part of Xander. Obviously he got ahold of the camera today - he took about 20 of these types of pictures. He also broke a record today, yes - a vinyl one, undid a few rows of the blanket I have been crocheting for about 14 months now (I know, I know - I should have it done!), dumped a full box of Lucky Charms all over the table and floor, hmmm I know there is more but I can't think or have blocked it out. Sigh. Terrible 2's, yeah, he takes that to a whole new level!


These others are from a cooking class that I took Haiden and Tre to at the "Young Chefs Academy" SOO cute! They made noodles - and had tons of fun at it. I think I am going to have Tre keep going - Haiden thinks he should get to go too but he already has too many things going on. Hopefully Raegan can go once in a while. I think she would love it.
